A long layover or an appointment without suitcases is easier when there is secure storage. Munich Airport's service centres in Terminals 1 and 2 provide luggage storage. Both are before security.
Locations and hours
The airport lists a Terminal 1 service centre open daily from 05:00 to 23:30 and a Terminal 2 centre from 06:00 to 22:00. Check the precise location and current hours before travelling. Your pickup must fit the opening time; this is not a 24-hour self-service locker.
How much does storage cost?
The official price list effective 1 January 2026 charges by item and duration. Cabin-sized luggage up to 8 kg costs €6 for up to five hours or €10 per started 24 hours. Normal luggage up to 20 kg costs €8 or €12 respectively. Oversized items cost more. The exact category depends on size and weight.
Check acceptance and timing
Not all items may be stored. Valuables and dangerous or perishable goods are excluded under the conditions. Keep your collection receipt and ask about pushchairs, sports gear or unusually large bags. For a connection, allow time to return to the service centre and pass through security again.
When is it useful?
Storage may help during a long gap between flights or after hotel checkout. Add up the fee for every item and the detour, and compare that with travelling directly to your hotel or station. It is often impractical on a tight connection.
